Re-Releases!

All right everyone, exciting news for the new year!

First, Troll Slayer's ebook version is now available.

 In other news, there are new covers! The Night Shift, The Hellfire Legacy, Home Sweet Home and Sleeping on the Job all have shiny, brand new covers! When purchasing, please make sure you are buying copies with these covers, otherwise I don't actually get paid.

The re-releases for Home Sweet Home will be tomorrow with the other three releasing later this week. I'll continue to re-release stories until we've got them all back up again.

Sophia and I are hoping to get The Spider's Web re-released in March, pending a reversion of rights letter. We're also waiting on the letter for The Night Wars Collection, and hope to have that re-released at the same time.

Evie Cappelli might, at first, seem unrelated to the Night Shift team you've come to know and love, but she has quite a lot in common with Fynn and the others, and she has the psych ward discharge papers to prove it.

The Spider's Web is an origin story for the newest member of the Night Patrol--the Canadian form of the Night Shift. Instead of working with vampires and renegade witches, however, she'll be up against something a little more intimidating: a goddess. Or two. And maybe a cult. Or at least the cult's crazy leader.

Meanwhile, she has family problems coming out her ears, and medication can only do so much when ghostly spiders start coming out of the woodwork, literally. It might take more than her favorite coping mechanism--obsessive knitting--to get her through this one.

But there is good news. She's got some strong allies in the form of Micha, her spiritual companion, and Adam, a burgeoning empath. And then there's that strange red headed man who keeps showing up, who says his name is Adder...

New Release

After being released from a Toronto psych ward, Evie decides that her life needs a drastic change. Moving 500 miles east to stay with her aunt in Montreal, however, is not turning out as expected. Though she loves the city, she can’t outrun the problems that drove her to the edge in the first place.
Recovery might be a little easier if not for Micha. Handsome, kind, always willing to help Evie or cheer her on–and completely invisible to everyone else. He seems to think he’s some kind of guardian angel, and she might need one now that things have gone from bad to just plain weird.

It's the newest book in the Night Wars series! The Spider's Web takes us to what happens after Sleeping on the Job. At first glance, Evie might not seem connected to the folks in Chicago, but looks can be deceiving.

New Release: Let the Good Times Roll

Lu Felix: college dropout, tour guide and possessed with the power to see the dead. If she could change one of those things, it would be the latter. When the haunted mansion she works at starts to get a bit more active when a new owner shows up. Bodies start to drop and it becomes clear that Lu is either going to have to accept her gift or let more people die.

Working at the Sauvageau estate was never part of Lu's life plan, but when she was forced to drop out of college after a nervous break down she needed a job and she didn't want to go back home to Dad. It wasn't just stress that caused her break though, it was the ghosts. The power she'd tried to push came roaring back and while the estate isn't exactly ghost free, at least most of the spirits are friendly.

But not all of the estate's ghosts are Casper, and when blood is spilled on the grounds, the darker spirits begin to emerge and an old pattern starts up again. While the estate's new owner, Jasper Savage, brings in a host of psychics to take a look at the place, Lu tries to keep her distance. But when an old boyfriend is murdered on the grounds and her friends are put into danger she finds herself drawn into the fray. Lu is going to have to tap into her powers and get to the heart of the estate's spirits before she and the other psychics end up as the estate's latest ghosts.

I have to say, this one was in the works even prior to the first one coming out, but it was, for some reason, just a bumpy ride. It was the work of a lot of friendly harassment encouragement and well worth it in the end. I hope you all enjoy this foray into the world as much as I enjoyed writing it.

A New Release and News

Today we see the release of The Eagle's Scheme, which is a sort of but not really follow up to The King's Dog about a lady knight named Joslin. This story introduces a new country and takes place after the events of The King's Dog, and hopefully illuminates some more of the political structures. I'm working another which will be from Germaine's POV and clear up some of Morraine's eccentricities.

Now, on to other news. First off, you may have noticed my announcements on FB and the Twitter, but I've recently contracted not one, but two new novels. The first of which is of course Death's Children, a sequel to The Grave Watchers, which is about a freshly risen watchwoman named Augustine Fleur under the loving guidance of our dear Sebastien. Expected release is sometime in January.

Now, the new news. I've contracted my very first YA novel! I've signed a contract with Prizm for a book called Vampirism and You! which follows the early days and confusion of a newly turned teenage vampire, Louis Von Graves. He has a handbook, a foster sire and a bad attitude. The displaced British native ends up in an American high school and hijinks ensue as he tries to figure out A) Should he feed on drama kids or cheerleaders B) Is he not attracted to human girls, or is it vampire girls to C) Should he wear false fangs while playing Dracula in the school play?

You'll get to go along for the ride as Louis navigates through a very dark world with a dose of humor, stoicism and lots of sarcasm.

As an aside, I'm considering starting a new blog for my YA stuff. Not sure just yet, seeing as I don't write anything with material I wouldn't have read as a teenager, but still. Thoughts and comments appreciated on this matter.

But things aren't what they seem on the surface. Kavanagh isn't exactly human, Zeke isn't exactly a cop and Nicky might just start believing--in fairies.

Thursday night the sun set and we still had no leads on the whereabouts of the ATS. What we did have were three more confirmed victims in the hospital. Nobody had died yet, but Patience was surprised. We managed to find a bottle of poisoned liquor that hadn't been opened in the Domino Room and Patience worked her magic on it.

The stuff was meant to be deadly. So either our victims hadn't drunk enough of it, or it was only a matter of time before they started to die.

Before Billy died.

Jo-Jo seemed confident in her ability to keep him stable, but she's a six inch pixie. I was having trouble putting faith in her. I spent part of the day at Billy's side, hoping maybe he'd come out of it on his own.

But nothing changed.
